The nice thing about an 82 is no E tests.

Goodluck with the project.

So I've started tackling the floors, and it is a really crappy job to do, but it's starting to look abit better
I decided that while the undercarriage is exposed, that I would undercoat the hell out of it.
Right now they are just pop riveted in with aluminum rivets so that they won't rust out. Then I will weld the pans in and apply liberal amounts of seam sealer to all the seams.

Thats OK, it's only to hold the pans in place until they are welded in. I wouldn't even think of just using rivets as the pans are part of the structural integrity of the body and frame.

your pans USED to be part of the Structural integrity. I don't see any braces to stop flex when you cut holes in your floor :D of course I am sure its fine. You should get some SFC welded in than you can cut all day long.

So floors are now in, they aren't pretty, but they're solid...
I started installing the digital dash and wiring. I also took my black carpet from my 1987 TA and shampooed and vacuumed it. It turned out pretty nice.

Thanks, I am not a welder by trade, but it is solid. As for the spaghetti, I had everything labeled before i took it apart. I do have a couple of plugs under the passenger side that I didn't label, so I will be posting a pic of them later on to see if anyone knows where they go. But so far it's going pretty smooth.

Post Re: Project Frankenstein
So I have been a little busy over the last couple of months. All the wiring issues have been sorted out for the main part. I know I have a couple of issues that will be sorted out once I have an engine installed and the electrical hooked up. The seats are from my 1990 GTA that need recovering, but I installed them anyhow to see how they look. I am starting to see some light on this project....

I agree. Think you need to rename the thread from Project Frankenstein to Project Guinness. :)
