Re: Help wake up my GTA!
Daz- was your set up in a 3rd gen before? I am trying to remember what car you have. Seems like the swap is fairly straight forward? I think I am going to do it. Also heard back from a guy parting out a 97 camaro ss with 67,000km, but I like that you have the conversion cross member already.

Re: Help wake up my GTA!
No I never had it on a car. I got turned off by the extra cost I need to put the T56 behind a BBC. That and the extra cost to make the speedo work

Hey Mike, How do you like the T56 set up and what gear did you end up going with?

Re: Help wake up my GTA!
i really like the t56 in the car, i am glad i did it(it made the car a lot more fun), as for gears i am still the 3.23 in the rear, i haven't changed them out yet, but i planned on going to 3.73.(the reason i have not is that i am a drum rear and if i was going to swap i was going to get a disc brake rear end).
The one thing i would change about my installation is to find a standard third gen car and cut the transmission tunnel to have the actual part where the shifter comes through and than weld it into my car to give it a little more strength.

Re: Help wake up my GTA!
Thats what I want, I want to make the GTA more fun to drive around town. I was driving a supercharged 5 spd Mustang last summer and the stick made it so much more fun to drive around the city. I was using some rpm calculators and it looks like 4.11 would really work well with the T56. I see what you mean with the extra strenght, I just don't know what to do with the GTA shifter plate, they are hard to find! I am just waiting to hear back but I think I got myself a T56 mikesz1984 wrote: i really like the t56 in the car, i am glad i did it(it made the car a lot more fun), as for gears i am still the 3.23 in the rear, i haven't changed them out yet, but i planned on going to 3.73.(the reason i have not is that i am a drum rear and if i was going to swap i was going to get a disc brake rear end).

Re: Help wake up my GTA!
4thgen console is a option, going to try to modify the auto to a manual shift plate,,if I don't find one in the meanwhile.

Looks really nice and not too out of place. Just have to make sure if you do find one its a bird one not a camaro one as they wont fit. I actually just sold my old 6 speed console not to long ago to Juice.
