rear end
So i was looking at my rear end today and i wanted to figure it out. first off who was the manufacturer for 3rd gen rear ends?
i couldnt find my 3 digit code plastered on the rear end due to all the gunk stuck on it.
But heres what my RPO codes say GT4: 3.73 gears G92: axle rear ratio, performance
what does performance axle even mean? besides i cant find anywhere online where it says this was a combo used with an LG4, but RPO stickers dont lie (i found it used in 84 though)
Thanks

Re: rear end
GM corporate 7.5(7.6) 10 bolt 3.73,3.42,3.23,3.08,2.73 - c-clip other thirdgen read diff manufacturer
Borg-Warner 9 bolt 7.75 9 bolt 3.70,3.45,3.27,2.77 floating..stronger
performance axle RATIO..3.23/3.27 is the highest standard axle for auto and 3.42/3.45 is the highest standard for manual cars. The difference in numbers depend if you have the corporate 10 bolt or aussie 9 bolt
