Post Is my rear hatch motor toast?
My hatch motor just gets really hot to the touch. It works sometimes, but briefly. Other times I have to give it a little whack to make the latch come up. Other times Ill try pushing the little tab to make the latch come up.. then all I hear is a little thump noise in the motor and gets really hot. Any ideas?

Sounds like its on the way out man. Are the sliders greased as if they arnt it could be binding and the motor is getting jammed when it goes up. Try it without closing the hatch and see what happens. Use a flathead to hold the trigger down and watch it and see what the issue is

Thats what Im thinking to Ray, I tried holding the trigger down and it would work fine for the first maybe 2-3 tries. Then all it would do is go down, but then wouldnt come back up, I would press the trigger a bunch of times and I could feel the motor making this click sound but wouldn't do anything. Just get really hot. I could hear the relay working fine. I also tested the wiring and its getting power

What year is the car as I have a few motors here if you need one. I just got to test them and double check they are working
