Good to see another 3rd gen with a T56. I started mine the other day. First of all read this thread if you havnt already as it will tell you almost everything you need to know
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/transmissions-drivetrain/452246-my-t56-swap-thread.html
Second if you want to use the mechanical speedo there is a guy in that thread that does the conversion as he did mine and hes got a 100% total so far of it working and hes done alot of them. His name on 3rd gen is Alloy and you will see him towards the end of the thread on the last few pages. Tell him Ray sent you and he will hook you up. Best of all he will work with whatever gears you have and his prices are way under those on that website and his turn around is super quick. heres a pic of mine he did
Third Build your own as there is no need to go with an aftermarket one if you can build your own and you could do it for a fraction of the cost. I got mine off sheldon and his was made by him. You can notch it as well to give you more clearance for exhaust as well. If I had a picture of it i ould show youwhat i mean. i can get you a pic next time I go to my shop. It really up to yuo if you want to make one or buy one. As for the loop read the TGO thread as you might rethink it and if you go aftermarket torque arm ive heard it is alot rougher of a ride and alot noise as well.
there is alot to take into consideration when doing the swap. Z28metalhead also has one in his car but when he sees the post im sure he will help you out as well

and the nice thing with this compared to the other route is that if you change gear ratio or tire size you can dial it in without having to tear the transmission down if you get into the range that you would have to change the driven gear.

You cant use LS1 hydraulics on an LT1 T56, and if you could that would be a DOWNGRADE. Don't ever speak of this again
Also, do you have a stock L98 in your car? If so you should re-think what gears you want in the rear end, as 4.10's in a TPI car is not a good idea. 3.23's or 3.42's is the MAX with a TPI induction if you ask me that I would go..
