Re: Help wake up my GTA!
check the plugs for fouling. Leaky injectors would do that but try to test the pressure before the FPR. It could be weak spring or leak in the diaphragm
good to here that its idling on its own now

Re: Help wake up my GTA!
Took the car out to day to Sparta, Could only manage a 14.35 @ 95.5mph. So long story short, this years goodies netted nothing I would think my combo would be good for 13's , makes me so frustrated

Re: Help wake up my GTA!
IMO TPI is the bottleneck..Either go with a Superram/Miniram (or other short runner setup)or carb. I personally would go carburetor.

Re: Help wake up my GTA!
Also, whats your shift points? Stall? Gears?
With your intake swap, your gaining aprox 1000rpm of power, but if your still shifting at stock points, your not using that new power

Re: Help wake up my GTA!
2200 rpm stall, 3:27 gears It is shifting between 5300-5700 rpm, so should be good range. I know I could use a little more gear,,,,but really I should still be running better times. Maybe its time for it to find a new home

Re: Help wake up my GTA!
Ya, some 3:45's would be sweet in that, even some 3:70's if your not worried about gas

that sounds about right. that was the best times i could run with a set up very very similar to that one. i beat my head against that dead tpi horse for far to long. not to be a stick in the mud.... but your latest round of mods looks more like a tune up. the runners and base would be the only thing in there that would help with any extra power . From back when i ran that set up nothing seem to make a difference if it still looked like a TPI in the end. it was not until i went holley stealth ram and a set of AFT heads that i started to make the power needed to go faster.

Yeah, the only performance stuff added were plenum, runners and base, guess I just thought that would push me into the 13.85-99 area! I am not going to do anymore performance stuff to the GTA, time to work on something else for a weekend strip car. Corp Z wrote: What kinda heads and cam are in the car right now? a comp XR264HR
